Welcome to February! It seems like only a short while ago that I was wishing people a happy New Year and now we are well on our way into 2008. How time flies!
This week's round up features some family news, a carnival and some more basic financial education.
My daughter turned four weeks old this week. She, my wife and I have settled into a nice routine that seems to work well for all of us. It included lots of eating, diaper changing and sleeping -- more sleeping now than before which is great!
This week's Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted by The Dividend Guy. I submitted my article on how my wife and I handle our finances as a couple and it was chosen as an Editor's Choice article. There are lots of other great articles so if you have a moment you should check them out.
One of the first things I decided to write about when I started this site was an overview of some basic personal finance concepts. Cameron Schaefer has written a basic overview of the time value of money over at his blog. This really highlights the importance of starting to save today instead of waiting until next week or later. It's an interesting read for anyone new to investing and a good refresher for everyone else.

Thanks for the shout out
Thanks for the shout out Peter! I am enjoying your blog, especially your "8 Reasons Why Small Houses Are Better Than Big Ones." As my family and I get ready to purchase our first house these are great points to keep in mind. Also, congrats on the newborn! Our daugther was born 2 weeks ago so we can relate to all the joys you're experiencing right now. Have a great weekend!

It sounds like we're in a similar boat these days Cameron! Congrats on entering fatherhood ... I wish I could offer some sage advice but I'm just getting my feet wet as well. The best I've got so far is that your daughter will grow up fast -- even in these early weeks. It's a big change when a baby goes from 7lbs to 9lbs!
Best of luck!
